People for People has partnered up with Movement on the Ground (MOTG) to support their activities in Ukraine, neighboring countries, and in The Netherlands. MOTG is on a mission to dignify refugee reception across the globe. After their excellent work in Greece, they are now also supporting people affected by the Ukrainian war.

One of the initiatives that MOTG currently undertakes is supporting Ukrainian children in need in Northern Poland. The war forced orphanages to relocate and look for a safe place for children. As a result, 121 orphans, all under 18 years old, and 9 caretakers are now in Poland trying to rebuild an everyday life.

People for People and Movement On The Ground firmly believe that dignified living conditions and the opportunity to learn, play and interact with each other during the day can help these children thrive. That’s why the People for People foundation donated €10K for furniture for a playground. And we will continue our cooperation because kids should be safe and happy! And this is our ultimate goal.

“Movement on the Ground has lots of experience working in such circumstances, like the great work they have been doing in Lesbos. For us, that makes MOTG a trusted partner. We can help them with our network of business, volunteers, and donations to enable them to do great work. When Lonneke shared that we’re going to focus on the Ukraine crisis, we immediately asked how we could be of help.” – said Jesse van der Meulen, foundation director.

Organisation still has a lot of needs, such as:

— WiFi – biggest priority, as this allows the children to follow home-schooling.

— Upgrading sleeping pavilions: new furniture was very much needed. Half of the furniture is already covered by People for People

— Help with sports and art activities for children.

We need more companies and people to join our mission to support as many people affected by the Ukrainian war to increase our impact. If you or someone you know is willing to help donate to the foundation (in goods, money donations, or any other way), don’t hesitate to contact them directly at https://peopleforpeople.info
